Shoji style door for entrance to a bathing area. Constructed of Siberian Elm with Walnut details. Final install of glass panels performed by client. Double mortise and tenon construction and oil finish.

Door members are joined with a “jaguchi,” which might be thought of as a “reverse chamfer.” Notice the horizontal members have a sharp extension that overlaps the generous chamfer of the vertical members.
